How to Save Energy During the Holidays
Tuesday, December 20, 2016
It’s the time of year when our schedules are loaded with festivities, our refrigerators are brimming with food, and homes are bursting with excitement. In the midst of the chaos, we want to bring you three quick tips to keep your home cozy without breaking the bank:
o Having guests over? Turn the thermostat down. Each guest is the equivalent of a 175-watt heater.
o Away for the day? Turn your thermostat down 10-15 degrees at night or if you’ll be out for the day. It could say you as much as 15% on your energy bills.
o Traveling? You guessed it, turn your thermostat down to 55 degrees and press the “hold” button on your thermostat to save energy while you’re gone.
We hope your holidays are wonderful. As always, we’re here if you need us!
